Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy

Using diverse experience to create an advantage for clients

Our Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy Group's experience representing all participants in the bankruptcy/workout process, including creditors, creditor committees, equity interests, trustees, receivers and corporate debtors, provides our clients with a distinct advantage. This multifaceted perspective enables the attorneys in the group to pursue options, negotiate positions and achieve outcomes that might not be available otherwise.

With extensive experience in the representation of clients in Chapter 7 (liquidation) and 11 (reorganization) proceedings, our attorneys move quickly and efficiently to achieve our clients' objectives, including:

  • Obtaining stay relief
  • Defending preference or other bankruptcy actions
  • Negotiating workouts and plans of reorganization
  • Buying or selling assets in a bankruptcy case

Bankruptcy cases often involve a wide variety of legal issues, and our Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy attorneys work with the firm's other practice groups to provide clients informed counsel in all relevant areas of the law. The group's experience includes some of the most complex cases filed in the Northern District of California as well as extensive appellate expertise.
